THIN sends the
results of the THIN Data validation in the form of a feedback
report to practices. The report outlines the practice’s level
of recording and highlights areas where completeness of
recording could be improved.
The feedback reports are produced on a regular basis, each
concentrating on a different therapeutic area e.g. diabetes,
asthma and cardiovascular disease.
Feedback to practices is based on the practice’s own data. In
addition to counts and numbers from THIN Data, comparative
counts from national statistics and other sources are
provided. Some interpretation of the results is made on
variances between practice counts and those from external
sources.
Feedback reports also incorporate a training element which
suggests efficient ways of recording data using advanced
features of Vision where possible. In addition the feedback
report will highlight any improvements in results from
previous reports.
The aim of the feedback to practices is to alert them to data
that would be expected but has not been recorded. The patients
included will be still registered with the practice so that
the doctor can address any issues identified by THIN.
A sample copy of the feedback report is available on the THIN
website.
